Mentha oil up 0.2% on strong demand

Oil for delivery in February traded higher by 0.17%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices gained 0.29% to Rs 831.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by strong demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against less arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 2.40, or 0.29%, to Rs 831.50 per kg in business turnover of 43 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 1.40, or 0.17%, to Rs 842.50 per kg in 3 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on the back of strong demand from consuming industries in the spot market against less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh that led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
