The Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Commission today issued notices to Hyderabad police and the Censor Board here following allegations that poster of an upcoming Telugu film hurts Muslim community's sentiments.

Khaja Tanveer Ahmed has filed a complaint before the commission stating that the poster of the Telugu film 'Nannaku Prematho' starring Junior NTR and Rakul Preet Singh shows the heroine in an obscene posture against the backdrop of religious verses.

The commission issued show-cause notices to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and regional office of Central Board of Film Certification, seeking replies within seven days as to why a criminal case should not be filed against the concerned producer, director and the actors.

Commission also recommended withdrawal of posters immediately.

The film will hit the screens on January 13.

Police said that the two complaints on the same issue were also registered in local police stations and a protest was held near the CBFC office today.
