Miscreants set fire to furniture in Madrassa in Mangaluru

Unidentified persons entered a 'Madrassa' at Elpel in Kukkippady village near here and torched the furniture inside the religious institution, police said today.

It is suspected that the miscreants gained entry into Jalalia Madrassa, on June 8, as the front door was not locked, and set fire to the furniture using Kerosene, they said.

Doors and windows of the Madrassa were partially burntin the blaze and an empty Kerosene bottle was found inside thehall, police said.

On a complaint from Mavinakatte JummaMasjid President Abdul Razack yesterday, police reached thespot and conducted investigations.

Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police Bhushan G Borase, Deputy Superintendent of Police Raveesh andother officials visited the spot.
