The body of a 12-year-old boy who had gone missing was found in a swamp at an NTPC dumping site in south Delhi, police said today.
Police suspect that the minor boy drowned in the swamp although his family has alleged that he was murdered.
The family members of the boy, identified as Himanshu, have said he had gone missing in the afternoon of August 21 when he had taken his pet dog out for a walk.

When the boy failed to return by evening, a missing complaint was filed at Jaitpur police station.
According to police, they received a call last evening from a woman who gave information about a boy's decomposed body lying in the swamp area of the NTPC dumping yard in the Jaitpur area.
The boy's family was notified and they identified the body as that of Himanshu.
The child lived in Peer Baba Colony of Jaitpur with his parents. There were no external injury marks on the body and it was likely that he drowned, police said.
The boy's parents suspect that the child was murdered and pointed to the "knee-level" swamp in which the body was found. His father, Ajit Saxena, said it was unlikely that anybody could drown in such shallow water.
Police said that the body has been sent for a post-mortem and the autopsy report would indicate the cause of death.
