Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today asserted that no flight is being diverted from Amritsar Airport to any other place since the state has taken up the issue with the Centre, besides initiating efforts to launch more international and domestic flights at Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport near here.
Badal told reporters that they have apprised the Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju in this regard and the later has assured that no flight will be diverted or transferred from Amritsar.
He said here that Punjab government was trying for resuming of operations of suspended flights.
He also said that they have approached Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Indigo and some other international and domestic players to resume and launch new flights from Amritsar.
