NSDC and US-India Aviation Cooperation Programme (ACP) have entered into a cooperation agreement for skill development in India's aviation sector.
A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) was signed between National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and US-India ACP under which they will set up a Centre of Excellence focused on skill development programmes in aviation.
"With this collaboration, I am confident that the aviation sector will start breeding best skilled talent pool from India which will not only address the skill gap in the sector but also address the requirements of other markets around the world," Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.

"It is estimated that by 2035, India's civil aviation sector would employ 8-10 lakh personnel directly or indirectly," Rajesh Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has set up the Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) with leading corporates to develop both domestic and transnational standards and capacity for training delivery in various areas of the sector.
Under the pact, ACP will work with the AASSC in developing standards, particularly in fire safety and rescue, and also undertake skill development programmes leveraging infrastructure in member companies.
