NWR cancels five trains due to rains

North Western Railways today cancelled five trains between Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat due to heavy rains damaging rail route in Ahmedabad division, an official said here.

Ajmer-Ahmedabad train number 19412 would remain cancelled from August 12 to 16 due to damage of train route and maintenance works on the Ahmedabad division, NWR Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) and DGM Tarun Jain said.

Similarly Mehsana-Aburoad train number 79437 has been cancelled from August 10 to 15, and Aburoad-Mehsana train 79438 from August 11 to August 16, the NWR CPRO said.

Bhagatki Kothi-Ahmedabad express train 14803/ and return train 14804 would be cancelled on August 14, 2015.
 

A number of other trains were rescheduled on this route, he said, adding the passengers are advised to cross check arrival and departure of trains on railway enquiry.

Meanwhile, scattered rains continued in parts of Rajasthan in last 24 hours with Kota recording 34.8 mm of rainfall since early morning, a MeT report said.
