PCR van catches fire

A Delhi Police PCR van caught

fire at Kautilya Marg here this afternoon, fire officials said.

Nobody was injured in the incident as the occupants of the vehicle got out of it as soon as they saw smoke coming out of the bonnet.

"The incident took place at around 4 P.M. When the vehicle was waiting at a traffic signal.

"Smoke started emanating from the engine and, by the time the two occupants of the vehicle could come out to see what was wrong, the engine burst into flames," police said.

The fire department was informed following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The blaze, which was doused in 15 minutes, left the front portion of the vehicle badly damaged.
 

In another incident, a footwear showroom in south Delhi's Okhla area caught fire, although nobody was injured in the incident.

Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control in 20 minutes, a fire department official said.
