Prasad, Rabindra share honours in JK racing

Round 1 of the 18th JK Tyre Racing Championship concluded with Vishnu Prasad and Akhil Rabindra winning Race 2 and 3, respectively, of the premier formula class at the Kari Motor Speedway here today.

The first race of the day was the JK Racing India Series, the premier formula class on offer. Race 2 saw Rabindra start from pole position. He led the race throughout, however, a jumpstart caused him a penalty of 10 seconds, brining Chennai man Prasad to the forefront, followed by Ananth Shanmugam of Bangalore. Rabindra eventually had to settle for third place.

He came back with a bang in the last race of the weekend, becoming the first the cross the chequered flag after from fourth on the grid.
 

It was a fight from start to finish as Rabindra, Prasad and Sandeep fought bumper to bumper. While Prasad finished second, international driver Constantino Peroni from Italy paced his way to third place.
