Sub-Junior National Basketball tournament starts tomorrow

West Bengal boys and Chhattisgarh girls will look to defend their respective titles at the 40th Sub-Junior National Championship at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Bihar starting tomorrow.

The event, being organised by Basketball Federation of India (BFI) in collaboration with the newly affiliated Bihar Basketball Association, will be held from August 18-25.

A total of 45 teams - 24 boys and 21 girls - from different states will be participating in this week-long event, BFI said in a release.

Matches will be played at the Patliputra Sports Complex indoor court and under floodlights at two of the Bihar military police synthetic basketball court.
 

"Basketball Federation of India is delighted to host the Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls in Patna. With the popularity of the sport growing in leaps and bounds, I am certain that this tournament will showcase competitive games and a pool of young talented players," BFI CEO Roopam Sharma said.
