The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission today informed Madras High Court that it has allowed a transgender to appear for the December 1 civil services exam and also issued a hall ticket.
The TNPSC stated this on a Miscellaneous Petition filed by the transgender, seeking permission to appear for the exam.
The First Bench comprising Chief Justice R K Agrawal and Justice M Sathyanarayanan recorded the submission made by the TNPSC standing counsel Niraimadi, perused the hall ticket produced in court and then closed the MP.

"In view of the submission and production of copy of the hall ticket, no further orders are necessary in the Miscellaneous Petition filed and the MP is closed," the court said.
The main petition on reservation to trangenders, among the list of demands, was adjourned to December 18 as the Special Government Pleader and Niraimadi sought time to file counter.
The Court had on Tuesday issued notice to the Chief Secretary, Secretary, Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Department, and Chairman of TNPSC on a petition to permit the transgender appear in all exams and to create a separate class or group for transgenders.
