TTAADC poll:CPI-M congratulates people of Tripura for LF's win

With the Left Front bagging all seats in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, the CPI(M) today congratulated the people of the state for the "magnificent" victory.

The Left Front today won all 28 seats of TTAADC for which elections took place on May 3.

Of the 28 seats, CPI-M won 25 seats while Communist Party of India (CPI), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Forward Bloc (FB) bagged one seat each.

Except for five seats, the Front got more than 50 per cent of the votes polled in the remaining constituencies.

"The Polit Bureau congratulates the people of Tripura for the magnificent victory that they bestowed on the Tripura Left Front in the elections to the TTAADC.
 

"The Polit Bureau appreciates the fact that the people of Tripura have thwarted all attempts at creating ethnic tensions. Elections to the TTAADC were held peacefully," the party said in a statement.

The CPI (M) also congratulated leaders, members, workers and supporters of the party and Left Front "for the hard work they put in to make this victory so outstanding.
