Upendra Vasishth appointed Development Commissioner Kandla

Senior IOFS officer Upendra Vasishth has been appointed as Development Commissioner of Kandla Special Economic Zone, Gujarat.

Vasishth, a 1985 batch officer of Indian Ordinance Factories Service (IOFS), has been appointed to the post of Development Commissioner (Joint Secretary-level), Kandla SEZ, Gujarat, under the Department of Commerce for a period of five years, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.

Jiwesh Nandan, a 1987 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in Defence Ministry, another DoPT order said.

He has been appointed for a period of five years from the date of taking over the charge and subject to the condition that the debarment order in respect of Nandan would be revoked only after he joins the post, it said.
 

Nandan is appointed in place of Ram Subhag Singh, a 1987 batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre.

The Centre has also approved premature repatriation of D V Prasad, a 1984 batch IAS officer, to his cadre Karnataka. Prasad is working as Additional Secretary in Ministry of Women and Child Development.
