Vicky Tyagi murder case: Mahapanchayat peacefully held

A mahapanchayat which was convened over the murder of gangster Vicky Tyagi was today peacefully held in the district, police said.

The mahapanchayat which was held in Pawti village amid tight security, was attended by several villagers and addressed by Amrish Tyagi.

Mother of Vicky Tyagi demanded a CBI probe into the case and arrest of the three named police officials.

She has named several people, including DySP (STF) Anuj Tyagi, SHO Sachin Malik and Constable Vikas.

Meanwhile, the juvenile accused in this case has been shifted to Varanasi jail from the district jail here last night on the grounds of threat to his life, Jail Superintendent Sevaram said, adding that a permission was sought from the local court in this regard.
 

The mahapanchayat was called in the wake of the murder of gangster Vicky Tyagi, who was shot dead in a court room here on February 16.
