A newly-married woman was poisoned to death allegedly by her husband and in-laws over dowry at Kosli town here, police said today.

Mamta Yadav, who got married in February this year, died after her in-laws forcibly injected poison in her body, they said.

The victim's father alleged that his daughter was killed as he was unable to meet the dowry demands of Mamta's in-laws, who were demanding a car and Rs 5 lakh.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's father, police have booked Mamta's husband Pradeep, father-in-law Ashok Kumar, mother-in-law Sushila Devi and three others in a dowry death case, police said.

Efforts are on to nab the accused, police said.
