The body of a 20-year-old girl was today found from an amusement park in the Kalindi Kunj area of south-east Delhi under mysterious circumstances, police said.

The deceased, Savita, along with around 70 other youths, had gone to the amusement park in a tour organised by an NGO. Her body was found in the pool of water of a ride at around 1 pm, said a senior police officer.

No external injury marks were found on the body, he said, adding that it was preserved at AIIMS for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

The pool where Savita's body was found had about 1.5 feet of water. Hence, drowning as the cause of death was unlikely. However, it was learnt that she suffered from fits and could have lost consciousness while rushing down the ride and choked in the water, police said.

The girl used to learn sewing, knitting and other cottage crafts at the NGO-run centre. She lived with her family at Janta Colony in Uttam Nagar, they added.
