Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.

The government on Wednesday said it has notified a special economic zone to be set up by Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd for electronic hardware and software, including IT/ITeS, at Dholera in Gujarat.
The company has proposed an investment of Rs 91,000 crore to set up India's first chip fabrication unit.
The proposal was approved by the board of approval, the highest body for SEZ related issues. It is chaired by the commerce secretary.
"The department of commerce on April 9 has notified a special economic zone to be set up by Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd exclusively for electronic hardware and software including IT/ITeS at Dholera, Gujarat," Additional Secretary in the Commerce Ministry Ajay Bhadoo told reporters here.
The SEZ will be set up on an area of 66.16 hectares. It is expected to generate 21,000 jobs.

IT services company Wipro will acquire select customer contracts of Alpha Net Consulting at a purchase consideration of up to USD 70.8 million, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday.
The business acquisition will enable Wipro's access to certain key clientele, their customer contracts as well as the related workforce, augmenting its existing AI-powered, and consulting-led application services capabilities, and fuelling new growth opportunities.
"Wipro Limited, through its subsidiaries, signed a definitive agreement on April 14, 2026 to acquire select customer contracts of Alpha Net Consulting LLC and its subsidiaries," the BSE filing said.
The deal involves cash purchase consideration of up to USD 70.8 million, subject to closing adjustments. This includes a deferred consideration in the form of earnout, payable subject to achievement of certain performance metrics and conditions.
The transaction is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) on Tuesday said its arm Adani Electricity Mumbai Infrastructure Ltd (AEMIL) has started operation of 1,000 MW transmission link between Kudus and Aarey.
The high-voltage direct current transmission link comprising a 30-kilometre overhead line and a 50-km underground corridor, has been designed to operate within the constraints of a densely built urban environment,  AESL said in a statement .
It also features the world's first compact HVDC (high-voltage direct current) substation.

The Rs 10,000 crore Fund of Funds 2.0 for startups will have an expanded scope, with the corpus divided into four segments, including dedicated support for deep-tech and manufacturing startups, according to a DPIIT notification.
