Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions (RBEI) have signed a MoU to develop e-learning modules for proficiency improvement programs (PIP) in the automotive domain. This is the first-such MoU signed by either of the organisation in the sphere of e-learning.

Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Private Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, one of the world's leading global suppliers of technology and services, offering end-to-end engineering, IT and business solutions.

Swaminathan K, vice president, RBEI said, “This cooperation will bring industrial knowledge, on what has been until now theoretical topics, nearer to those individuals, colleges and corporates who are looking for a quality education supplement.”

The PIP training program gives graduate engineers who are working or who intend to work in the automotive industry, knowledge and technical expertise in a wide range of automotive disciplines through optional modules. By making it available as online modules, called ePIP, engineers can now access learning more easily.

Based on the present system in universities, credits are proposed for each module, so that the graduate engineers can attend various modules and sum-up the credits required for Master’s or Doctoral Programs. With about 36 PIPs running annually, ARAI is now taking learning online because it has maximum learning impact and because it extends their global footprint.

Rashmi Urdhwareshe, director, Automotive Research Association, commented, “With government’s increasing support towards skill development, ARAI looks at e-learning solution as a major milestone, when ARAI academy is in its 10th year of education excellence.”
