Calangute, Goa, Dec 10 (ANI): In a horrific incident, a Dutch woman was found dead in a resort room at Gauravado, Calangute, on Thursday evening. Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi gave details of the incident and said that he had received a call on Thursday at 8.30pm that a foul smell was emanating from a room in a resort at Gauravado, following which the police had reached the spot, and after opening the room, found the dead body of Nicolle Genoncceu, 63, in a decomposed state.  The body has been sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital.

The Visakhapatnam Port Authority signed a Rs 300 crore agreement with Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) on Thursday to construct a flyover aimed at reducing congestion and enabling seamless cargo movement via road and rail traffic towards the port.
Designed to improve traffic management and cargo evacuation, the project will cover the areas surrounding the port and critical parts of the city leading to it.
"The agreement pertains to the construction of a flyover bridge connecting Seahorse Junction to the dock area at Vizag Port. The estimated cost of the project is approximately Rs 300 crore. The flyover will eliminate 11 level crossings that currently obstruct traffic flow, ensuring smooth cargo movement," stated an official press release from VPA.
Spanning 3.3 km in length, the flyover will feature a carriageway width of seven meters for two lanes and 10.5 meters for three lanes, facilitating efficient entry and exit for port-bound traffic.

Disputes between the Delhi government and the LG must be resolved once and for all, the Supreme Court said on Thursday after being informed funds for a scheme meant for road accident victims were released.

The Karnataka cabinet on Thursday decided to increase the bus fares in the state-owned transport corporations by 15 per cent.
The decision was taken in view of the substantial hike in operational costs such as increase in spending on fuel prices and staff, Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil said.
The cabinet has decided to revise the bus fare of the four state transport corporations of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) by 15 per cent, Patil said while briefing reporters here.
The Minister said the decision will come into effect from January 5.
According to him, the BMTC bus fares were increased on January 10, 2015 when the diesel prices were Rs 60.90 per litre.
