The Enforcement Directorate on Friday said it has conducted fresh searches in Kolkata in the Mahadev online betting-linked money laundering case and has frozen securities and deposits worth more than Rs 130 crore.
The searches were conducted on Thursday, the agency said in a statement.
The case pertains to an ongoing investigation by the federal agency in which a number of high-ranking politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh are alleged to have been involved.
During the searches conducted in Kolkata, securities, bonds and demat accounts worth Rs 130.57 crore were frozen under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the ED said.
The agency has alleged that its probe into the Mahadev Online Book (MOB) gaming and betting app has shown the involvement of various high-ranking politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh, the state where the two main promoters -- Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal -- of the app hail from.

Ambuja Cements, part of Adani Group firm, on Friday announced the commissioning of a 200 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat, to supply green power to 20 cement plants.
The Khavda project is part of Adani Cements' plan to have 1 GW of renewable power from solar and wind projects, along with 376 MW from WHRS (Waste Heat Recovery Systems).
"The balance 806 MW capacity from this project is at various stages of commissioning and expected to start transmitting in phases between March 2025 and June 2025," said a statement.
Of the remaining 806 MW capacity from this project, 156 MW of wind power from Khavda and a further 300 MW of solar power from Rajasthan are expected to be commissioned by March 2025 in phases.
The balance of 350 MW of solar power is expected to be commissioned by June 2025.
This will "positively impact the company's EBITDA" as this development leads to an impressive 70 per cent savings compared to current power cost, it added.

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has ramped up his outreach, especially to women, ahead of the February 2025 Assembly elections.
During a padayatra in the Badarpur constituency on Monday, Kejriwal cited a survey that he claimed shows 60 per cent of women in Delhi are set to vote for AAP. He urged the remaining 40 per cent to join the fold.

A member of the Prime Ministers' Museum and Library Society Monday said he has asked Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to make widely accessible a collection of private papers belonging to former PM Jawaharlal Nehru which were withdrawn from the erstwhile NMML on the request by the then UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in 2008.
Rizwan Kadri, who teaches history at a local college in Ahmedabad, in September had also written to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to allow physical or digital access to private papers related to Nehru that are in her possession.
These papers contain records related to exchanges between Nehru and Jayaprakash Narayan, Edwina Mountbatten and Albert Einstein, among other personalities, he said.
Nehru lived at Teen Murti Bhawan in central Delhi, which after his death became the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML), housing a rich collection of books and rare records.

The country's gold imports in November reached a record high of USD 14.86 billion, registering a four-fold increase, mainly on account of festival and wedding demands, according to commerce ministry data.
Gold imports stood at USD 3.44 billion in November 2023.
Cumulatively, imports during April-November this fiscal year rose 49 per cent to USD 49 billion as against USD 32.93 billion in the same period last fiscal year.
According to the ministry, gold, with about 25 per cent average annual return, is one of the best-performing assets in 2024 (till November) and high imports indicate strong investor confidence in the precious metal as a safe asset.
The other reasons include asset diversification towards gold due to global uncertainties, increasing demand from banks, cut in customs duties.
Prices of the yellow metal have increased 23 per cent so far this year to Rs 78,350 per 10 gm in the national capital.
