Who is Arvinder Singh Lovely

One of the most prominent names in the Delhi unit of the Congress party, Arvinder Singh Lovely was the youngest MLA when he was first elected to the Delhi Assembly in 1998 from the Gandhi Nagar seat. He went on to represent this constituency until 2015. Lovely held several important portfolios, such as Urban Development & Revenue ministry, Education, and Transport, in the successive Sheila Dixit-led governments in Delhi.

 

A former president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Lovely contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the East Delhi constituency against cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir (the Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP)
