Who is Dipsita Dhar?

Dipsita Dhar is an Indian student activist and the All India Joint Secretary of Students' Federation of India. Students' Federation of India (SFI) is the student wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). She will be contesting the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections from Bally constituency in West Bengal, representing the CPI(M).

She was born in Howrah district of West Bengal on August 9, 1993 to father Pijush Dhar and mother Dipka Thakur Chakraborty. She is also the grand-daughter of 3-time Member of Legislative Assembly Padma Nidhi Dhar. Her cousin, Shovan Ganguly, is a Bengali play-back singer.
