	Gill was born on September 8, 1999, in Punjab&#39;s Fazilka district. Gill&#39;s father, Lakhwinder Singh, was a farmer who wanted to be a professional cricketer. Gill, along with his family, moved to Mohali to learn cricket professionally. Initially, Gill took coaching for cricket from his school, and he was later admitted to the Punjab Cricket Association&#39;s academy.</div>

	Gill made his List A debut for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in February 2017 and his Ranji Trophy in November of that year. Gill rose to fame in the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup, where he made 418 runs at an average of 104.50.</div>
