How to track live train running status online?

The Indian Railways has taken a lot of steps to improve train-travelling experience over the years. If you are a passenger, you may want to know the live running status of your train.
Multiple services are available to check the live train running status on mobile. These services are provided by Indian Railways and private firms such as MakeMyTrip. You can use these services to know the PNR status, live running status of your train, previous station, upcoming station, among other things.
 
There are other ways too to find the live train running status. These include calling on the number 139, using 3rd party apps, among others.
 

How to check the live train running status using Indian Railways website?

You can use the online portal of Indian Railways to check the live train running status. Follow these steps
 
1. Go to https://indianrailways.info/ and click on 'Train Running Status'
 
2. Enter your details — train number, starting date of the train. Click ‘Submit’ after entering the details
 
3. A new page will appear where you will be able to check all your train related information including the live train running status
 

How to check live train running status via MakeMyTrip on WhatsApp?

1. Save MakeMyTrip’s railway enquiry number (+91-7349389104) on your mobile phone
 
2. Open WhatsApp and go to the chat section of the MakeMyTrip contact
 
3. In the chat window, text the train number or the PNR number of the train you want to check
 
4. Once you have texted, MakeMyTrip will send all the details related to the train
