Who is Aryaman Vikram Birla?
Aryaman Vikram Birla, the middle-child of Kumar Mangalam Birla was recently inducted as the director of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd along with his sister Ananyashree Birla.
The group, in its statement, said that the siblings are looked at as the next-gen leaders of the $60 billion Aditya Birla Group. For Aryaman, Grasim mentioned that he comes with "diverse experience which includes, entrepreneurship, VC investing".
He has been involved in Aditya Birla Group's "foray into new-age businesses", and "helped incubate the group’s D2C platform, TMRW, and is a director on its board". Aryaman is also spearheading the group’s venture capital fund, Aditya Birla Ventures.
Cricket career
Starting his 'cricket dream' at the age of nine, Aryaman had moved to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh to make the sport his career.
Aryaman, who is a first-class cricketer, made his debut in the game with Madhya Pradesh cricket team in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy.
He is a left-handed batsman, and also selected for the team of Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 IPL auction.
However, in 2019, Aryaman took a sabbatical from cricket saying that he needed to prioritise his mental health. "I have felt trapped. I have pushed myself through all the distress so far, but now I feel the need to put my mental health and wellbeing above else. So I have decided to take an undefined sabbatical from cricket," he said in his Instagram post.
Entrepreneurship
Aryaman, at the age of 23, turned entrepreneur by launching a super-exclusive club in Mumbai called Jolie's. The club aims to provide a networking platform for high achievers from different fields.
A pet-parent himself, the 25-year-old opened 'The Pawpstar Co" in 2021. The store, inspired by Aryaman's love for their pet dog 'Spencer', is a new-age toys and pet store for dogs.
Post induction as a director, The Aditya Birla Group announced its foray into the premium casual dining space, a fast-growing segment in the organised food services market, in collaboration with Chef Restaurateur Rahul Akerkar, under Aditya Birla New Age (ABNA) promoted by Aryaman.
Education
In 2018, he was pursuing a commerce degree through distance learning from the University of Mumbai.
Singing
Just like his sibling Ananya, Aryaman is also a singer. He made his singing debut in 2019 with the single "Shallow"
