Who is Kailash Gahlot

Kailash Gahlot is a politician and member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). At present, he represents the Najafgarh constituency in the Delhi Assembly and is the transport & environment minister in the Arvind Kejriwal-led government.
 
Gahlot, who attended the University of Delhi, holds Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws degrees. The portfolios he holds in the Delhi government are transport, revenue, administrative reforms, information technology, law, justice & legislative affairs, and environment.
 
Born on 22 July 1974, Gahlot comes from Mitraun village in Najafgarh and is an accomplished advocate in the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court.
 
In 2018, Gahlot had come under the scanner of the Income-Tax department, which had conducted searches at several premises linked to him in connection with an alleged tax evasion case.
