Italian major IMA Spa - one of the leading global suppliers of packaging machines to food & beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries - is planning to increase its exports to more than half its total sales in the next two years from Hassia Packaging India located in Pune. In the first quarter of 2015, IMA had completed its purchase of German firm Oystar Group, including the brand names Hassia India, Benhil, Erca, Gasti, Hamba and Hassia. In addition to Hassia’s Pune plant, IMA already operates two facilities in India at Mumbai and Indore.
“We are looking at 20 per cent growth every year, with a key focus on becoming an export-oriented company by 2017, and with a projected turnover from overseas markets of more than 50 per cent. The combination of German and Italian excellence and technological prowess will help Hassia make gains in the domestic market and strengthen its footprint in South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, West Asia,” said K Ravi, managing director, Hassia Packaging.
Hassia Packaging, which has manufacturing facility at Sanaswadi (Pune), has made significant inroads in the Indian industry by offering highest speed of automation for packaging food, dairy, agrochemical, washing powder, shampoo, hair oil, and nutraceuticals.
Hassia India, a specialist in vertical form fill seal (FFS) bagging machines, has a strong presence in the Indian subcontinent and exports 30 per cent of its products to international markets including Africa, SAARC and Southeast Asia. With a current turnover of Rs 50 crore, the company is aiming to cross Rs 100 crore in the next three years.
