 The government, on its part, claimed that it was a victory and slammed the IPA for attempting to commercialise what was a humanitarian gesture.  The western pharmaceutical companies, too, welcomed the accord. D G Shah, the soft-spoken IPA secretary general, spoke to Business Standard on why the accord is bad news for Indian pharmaceutical companies.  You seem to be the only person upset with the accord?
I am not upset. But I think we could have got a better deal. In a trade body, negotiations are done with commercial interests in mind and not humanitarian concerns. Otherwise, we lace it with trade concerns.  The TRIPS Council chairman
