APTD, Senora in JV for setting up resort in Vizag

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department (APTD) and Senora Beach Resorts Private Limited have joined hands to set up a beach resort and club project at Sagarnagar near Visakhapatnam with an investment of Rs 4.5 crore.

"The first phase of this project is nearing completion and we are planning to start our commercial operations from May 2004," said D Raghurama Raju, director, Senora Beach Resorts Private Limited, at a press conference here on Wednesday.

APTD has allotted five acres of land on lease for 33 years for the project which is coming up on a hilltop. In the first phase, the company has created five modern rooms, multi-cuisine restaurants, bar & restaurant, conference halls banquets, kids playroom, health club, gym and other facilities, he revealed.

"In the second phase, we will construct 12 cottages for which foreign consultants have been signed on. The second phase would be ready by December 2004," Raju said.

To market the project, the joint venture company has started to organise seminars at Kolkata, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other states in the country. Senora Resorts recently was recognised with the best investor award by APTD.
