Summer art workshops for children.
DELHI
For some years now, the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi, has been organising summer painting workshops for children. Classes with 60 students each will be held in three batches — junior (5-8 years), middle (9-12 years) and senior (12-17 years). Participants must bring their own paper, colour, brushes, board, etc.

India Habitat Centre, the capital’s premier cultural destination, organises summer workshops for kids every year. This year, artist Om Prakash will be teaching two batches of 5-10-year-olds and 10-15-year-olds the intricacies of pottery and clay modelling.

MUMBAI
Prithvi Theatre puts together an entire season of activities for children every summer — theatre, dance and creative workshops — starting in mid-April and ending in early June. As a part of this, Chennai-based artist Pravin K P is conducting a five-day workshop on poster-making for children aged 6 to 16. Posters are creative forms of communication — they have to communicate an idea and at the same time draw attention. Pravin teaches a few easy drawing and painting techniques from Indian traditional art to help children draw out ideas, as well as understand concepts, image-making and display.

Birla Academy of Art & Culture is one of the oldest private-sector arts institutions in the eastern metropolis.
