The second edition of Bangalore Habba, a festival to celebrate the essence of Bangalore through its vibrant art and culture, will kick off across Bangalore from December 5. |
According to Artists Foundation For Arts (AFFA), organisers of this event, in the past three decades the growth of Bangalore has admittedly given much cause for anxiety, along with enthusiasm. |
Bangalore, apart from being a hub of corporate and commercial enterprises, must also become a model for a lifestyle of grace necessary for art and culture and Bangalore Habba will try to address this potential of the city. |
Said Nandini Alva, an organising member of Bangalore Habba: "To restore the essence of all that is Bangalore to Bangaloreans, we have designed a festival with ambition harmonious with the cosmopolitan taste of our people. The Habba will attempt to bring to city's audience the most prestigious names from all over India in music, dance and other performing arts, but, true to its foundation and purpose, we help fashion a platform that the brightest and best in Karnataka could share with national artistes." |
This year's edition will see about 1,000 artistes "" stalwarts in the fields of music, dance and stage arts, entertainers, magicians, films, comedies, culinary delights, crafts, variety and vibrancy. |
