The second is by one Emma Tarlo, a subaltern sort of study called Unsettling Memories. It has some very nice pictures.
The first was by Bishan Narain Tandon who was a joint secretary in the PMO during 1969-76, called PMO Diary Prelude to the Emergency. It is a 900-page daily record of the goings on in the PMO between November 1974 and August 1975. I translated it from the original Hindi.
