4 MUST-SEE

Six months ago, Gallerie Nvya took 18 artists to an art camp in South Africa. Here are some of the results of a subsequent group exhibition where the artists worked in pairs.

Amrit and Rabindra K D Kaur Singh
Well, the Singh twins mostly work together so working collectively on a canvas was not an issue. Their signature poster colour, gouache and gold dust has the arty gang in the African safari mode.

Manu and Madhvi Parekh
This couple paired together did put in an effort to work collectively, but for Madhvi "someone dabbling a hand on my canvas makes me tense". Ditto for Manu. The African masks amused them.

Paresh Maity and K S Radhakrishnan
This pair decided to not to meddle with each other's works. Maity's conte on board (left) is inspired by the ladies he saw while the artists ventured into the African interiors.

Radhakrishnan's lithe Musui and Maiya bronze sculptures (right) are a reflection of doing nothing, just soaking in the surroundings. "As individual artists it is not possible to work together," he says.
