Guess what, the Regal Crest is no more. For the uninitiated, the crest refers to the Hero Honda Ambition's instrument pod which managed successfully to mar the bike's otherwise nicely edgy styling. |
Almost all reports, tests and comparisons of the motorcycle since the launch have pointed scowls and fingers unanimously at the crown. Say hello to the new Hero Honda Ambition135. |
We'd said that the powertrain was quite good, and the upgraded bike sports the same 133cc engine and promises 55 kpl under standard test as well as 11 bhp. |
Very much the decent all-rounder. The changes are all cosmetic, beginning with the new CBZ-style bikini fairing (with new decals flanking the headlamp), new instruments with a trip meter and a new paintwork on the side and tailpiece. |
The usual range of drum brake and kick start base model to the all-options disc brake/electric start model will be on sale in the new range of colours made popular by the Passion+ and Splendor+ models. |
The Ambition135 is on sale now, with prices starting from Rs 44,977 (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, the CBZ is now effectively the only motorcycle in the manufacturer's fleet yet to get an upgrade. |

If you thought the Forester sold here is good, wait for this " Subaru is set to unveil an all-out STi version in Japan, next month. The new car will sport 18-inch alloys, a new front fender, air-inlet on the bonnet and of course, a sprinkling of STi badges all over. Well, if you are going to have a WRC-spec AWD estate, might as well let the world know about it, eh? |
The engine is where the action is " it's the same 2500cc turbocharged boxer-four which the Impreza STi uses, and works all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. |
The uber-Forester also uses the Impreza's uprated braking system, so there should be no worries about driver safety. No word on whether GM plan to put the Chevrolet badge on some of these Forester STi cars and bring them to India, but let's hope they do. |
If estates are not your style, Subaru still have something in store for you. Petter Solberg won the World Rally Championship for them last year, and the Japanese company is celebrating with a special-edition Impreza WRX STi. Badged the WR1, the Impreza will use an upgraded boxer-four which makes an Evo FQ-matching 315 horsepower. |
What's more is, it'll also feature a manually-operated 'Driver's Control Centre Differential' which allows the driver to decide how torque should be split between front and rear wheels. |
And to complete the package, there are also stiffer suspension settings, 25mm lower ride height, 18-inch seven-spoke alloys and Pirelli P-Zero tyres. Now if you still can't win those midnight street races, it's down to you... |
