Australia cruised into the World Cup finals with a 7-wicket win over South Africa at St Lucia yesterday.Electing to bat first, the South Africa found themselves in trouble as they lost five quick wickets for just 27 runs within the first 10 overs. They were finally bowled out for a partly 149 from 43.5 overs. Justin Kemp unbeaten on 49 runs was the top scorer followed by Herschelle Gibbs 39 runs. AB De Villers 15 runs was the only other batsman to get into double figures.Man of the Match Glenn McGrath picked three wickets for 18 runs off 8 overs. He was on a hat-trick in the 10th over of the match, when he got Ashwell Prince and Mark Boucher in two balls. Shaun Tait picked four wickets for 39 runs from his 10 overs. Apart from the early dismissal of Adam Gilchrist for just one run, the Aussies had no major problems in chasing the target. They achieved the target in 31.3 overs with seven wickets to spare.Michael Clarke top-scorer with 60 not out. World Cup highest run-getter Mathew Hayden scored 41 runs.
