The Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, supposedly the oldest game reserve in India, makes for a great weekend getaway for wildlife enthusiasts. Dandeli is home to the black panther and some tigers as well, apart from which creatures like the flying squirrel, the flying snake and the flying lizard can also be seen. |
If you want to see Hornbills, Dandeli is the place " hundreds of them live here. Plenty of crocodiles around as well, so don't go wandering into the river on your own. If you feel like getting your feet wet, you can go river rafting for an adrenaline surge or take life at an easier pace in a coracle. |
