The Tavera is a capable car, but the Innova is all-new internationally and a latest generation vehicle. It's quite refined, and will seat six comfortably, while the second-generation common-rail diesel engine should give you good performance and fuel efficiency too. We believe that the Innova should be reliable enough to give you less maintenance problems and should hold its value when you're eventually ready to sell it. If the twin-AC version fits in your budget, then you can certainly opt for it. Goan places I'm returning to Goa after a few years in the Gulf. I would appreciate your comments and suggestions on my purchase of a new car. My family doesn't like the shape of the Toyota Innova, so it's a no-go. The other two in my list are the Chevy Tavera and Mahindra Scorpio. I'll be driving approximately 20 km per day and would prefer a car that is reliable and offers good performance and handling. Considering these factors, could you please tell me which of the two I should go for: (a) in petrol or diesel, (b) 2WD or 4WD.

Based on your requirements, we recommend you go for the Scorpio over the Tavera. The Scorpio is fairly reliable and the new CRDe engine offers better performance too. The petrol Scorpio will be a bit thirsty for unleaded fuel
