We think the ideal Delhi-Gurgaon car from the Honda stable is the Accord and more so since you like speed. The CR-V has the SUV image all right but when on a rare occasion the roads do open up, you will want a car that is dynamically suited for speed. Between CR-V and the Accord, our vote in that regard goes to the Accord. Both cars offer you all the safety features you will need.

What do you think of the Sonata Embera Diesel? We are looking for a car that has comfortable seating at the back and cheap to operate between Agra and Delhi. Any other alternatives within the Rs 15 lakh budget?

Hidayathulla, via email

The new Hyundai Sonata is a very well made car that has decent ride quality and safe handling. The common-rail diesel engine that powers the Sonata is tuned for economy. That means, while economy is granted, it is not exactly the most spirited diesel car to drive. But that may not be an issue for you since you employ a chauffeur in any case. You can also look at the Hyundai Tucson SUV but we recommend sedans to SUVs when it comes to regular highway driving. Read more about the Hyundai in the lead story above.

I was about to buy the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R when the company launched the new Zen. I hear that both cars have same engine. Does it make sense to buy the Wagon R now? Is there any problem with buying the new Zen?

Rama Nalinakshan, via email

There are no problems as such "" the new Zen can be considered against the Wagon R as long as you are not looking for a more sorted ride and handling package. The cars share the same engine though it feels more at home powering the Wagon R. With the tall roof-line, the Wagon R also feels more spacious from inside. Our choice? Wagon R any day, and the Duo version makes brilliant sense if you drive a lot and if there are LPG outlets near your home.
