In India, business has always been considered to be men's preserve but now, women entrepreneurs too, however small in number, are making their impact on the business world. |
To coax more and more women to join the business community, the Ficci Ladies Organisation, the apex body of Indian business women, will be holding a two-day national workshop on business skills, communications and personality development among women in Agra on Friday and Saturday in association with Ficci. |
The workshop, being convened in Agra by the National Chamber of Industries and Commerce, UP shall be one of the first such events to be held in the town in the coming months. |
Talking to Business Standard, Rajiv Gupta, president, National Chamber of Industries and Commerce, UP, said the FLO undertook the organising of several business oriented activities throughout the year, specially targeting the women who wanted to enter the business world. |
He said that though the workshop shall be open for both men and women, the primary stress shall be on getting more and more women to participate in it. |
According to Gupta, FLO also had a Business Consultancy Cell that offered free professional guidance to women besides holding entrepreneurship development programmes, workshops and panel discussions all round the year. The discussions will be presided over by Neeta Agarwal, chairperson, Women Entrepreneurs Development Cell, NCIC. |
