With Chennai Super Kings making a foray in the IPL semifinals, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has warned his team against repeated fielding errors which he feels could cost them dear in the knock out stage.
"I am quite happy to be in the semifinals. But I must admit that we are committing the same mistakes on the field every day," Dhoni said.
"We can't afford to miss catches and give those extra runs to the opposition. We are still in the league stage so it's not hurting that much but it can prove to be very crucial in later games like in the semifinal and the final," Dhoni was quoted as saying by the official IPL website.
Dhoni, who led his team to a seven-wicket win over Mumbai Indians on Saturday, said with the semifinal berth almost assured, he might give his reserve players a go in the remaining two league matches.
"Maybe some of the pacers get a chance in the next two games. As for the opening partnership, which hasn't clicked as such, I think Parthiv Patel needs to have a go.
"He is experienced and a good hitter of the ball. He is expected to become a good partner of Hayden," he said.
