Goa "" known for its vibrant nightlife and vivacious culture inherited from the erstwhile Portuguese rulers "" is gearing up for the party season from September-end to the New Year-eve bash along its picturesque beaches.

The state, popular for its year-long holiday mood, is giving final touches to its tourist centres, characterised by the sun, sand and sea.

So prepare yourself for a great nightlife in Goa from September-end to the new-year bash along the picturesque Arabian Sea. There are plenty to choose from "" listen to the music of live entertainment or dance the night away at the hottest clubs.

"Goa provides a perfect combination of wild nights, delicious Goan cuisine, exotic drinks and an enchanting atmosphere. All you need to have is a lot of time to let yourself experience the nightlife," says Abhishek Nath, president, operations, La Calypso Resorts.

India's renowned DJs "" Akbar Sami, Suketu, Aqueel, Piyush, Nikhil, Rishab, Priyanjana, Megha, Pearl and many more "" have already given dates to various nightclubs in Goa to set the fire on the dance floor from September 30 onwards.

The party culture began in the 1960s by the Hippies after they found the beaches of Goa as a perfect resting place of solitude. Since then, Goa has come a long way in terms of the manner of the parties. Nowadays, parties have become a sort of compulsions along the state's coastline.

The atmosphere here is very relaxing and extremely conducive while the exquisite seafood and other Goan delicacies add the spice. People indulge in drinking and dancing all through the night along with the upbeat music in the background.

"Music and well-stocked bars along the beaches make nightlife more interesting. The fiesta sweeps one off the floor as one can let loose and give vent to the spirit of music during the rave parties," says Maria Thaisa, a Brazilian DJ.

Adds Gregg Furtado, CEO, Vanilla Lounge, "Goa has a more liberal attitude to its nightlife than most places in India. For quite some time, the only nightclub in Goa was in Calangute and it has gradually spread to the rest of the state."

Facing a grounded vessel, River Princess, at Candolim, Vanilla Lounge will be holding fashion shows and war of DJs on its beachside disco-cum-lounge.

Another nightclub, Tito's, has created a niche for itself across the globe, as tourists flock the club from around the world.

Besides clubbing, there are Ingo's and Mackie's Saturday Nite Bazaars in Baga and Arpora respectively for night-shopping with live entertainment.

As the sun goes down, get ready to heat up the nightlife in Goa with the leading DJs from across the world.
