Indian art to be showcased in UAE

Art lovers here would be able to have a glimpse of some of the latest creations from Indian artist at the upcoming 2008 Art Paris show in Abu Dhabi .     

1x1 Art Gallery, the UAE's home of contemporary Indian Art, will be exhibiting a selection of the latest pieces from the Indian artists at the show to be held from November 26 to 29.     

"The 1X1 Gallery's commitment is to bring the best of Indian contemporary art to the region," Malini Gulrajani, proprietor of 1x1 Art Space, said adding following Art Paris in Abu Dhabi, there will be further opportunities to view the collective works at the gallery here till December 22.     

The South Asian art scene is continuing to create real interest globally and galleries in Europe and North America have begun to cater for their own locally based collectors with shows of both modern and contemporary Indian artists, Gulrajani said.     

Works of artists like Bose Krishnamachari, Chittrovanu Mazumdar, Hema Upadhyay, Justin Ponmany, Riyas Komu and Shibu Natesan will be showcased during the exhibition.
