The confusion over the ownership of late 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson's legacy continues as the pop legend's lawyer said that the family is still in the dark over his will.
Londell McMillan who was appointed the family's attorney by Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson said that the family has no access to the will, reported CNN online.
"Well, there have been reports of a will, and we are trying to assess that now. None has been presented to the family at this time," said McMillan.
Meanwhile, other published reports suggest that Jackson's lawyer, a part of his former entourage that was accused of "enabling" his prescription drug dependency was withholding the will from the family.
"The family has no access to the will. (Michael's lawyers) won't let the family see it... The family has no idea what to do. They don't even know when to bury him. They don't know what to do about anything," a relative of Jackson told People magazine.
McMillan, a New York-based attorney said if Jackson had not left a will his assets would go to his next of kin under California law.
"If there's no will then under the state of California it goes to the next of kin, that's an adult administering and overseeing for the best interests of the children," McMillan said adding that Jackson's mother Katherine would be appointed to control her son's assets if they passed to the family, he added.
