Lalit Modi has failed in his bid to be re-elected as the president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).
This has no bearing on his position as the chief commissioner of the Indian Premier League. He remains vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and vice-president of the Punjab Cricket Association.
A few years ago, it was Modi’s win in the RCA elections that had set off a series of successes for him that quickly made him one of the most powerful men in Indian cricket.
