A national exhibition showcasing building materials, interiors and lifestyles - My Build 2005 - is being organised in Mysore from December 8 to 12. The Builders' Association of India, Mysore centre, is organising the expo for the fifth time consecutively at the Nanjaraja Bahadhur Choultry.
 
There will be over 150-odd stalls at the expo showcasing varieties of granite, marble, ceramic and other flooring materials, PVC doors, flush and decorative doors, laminations, water-proofing and other construction chemicals, paints, solar heating and lighting systems, dismantling equipment and construction machinery.
 
Different kinds of scaffolding materials, grills and handrails, varieties of sanitary, plumbing and electrical fixtures, stainless steel sinks and drain-boards, electrical wires and decorative fittings will also be displayed, according to My Build chairman A V Sridhar.
 
As part of the exhibition, a national seminar on 'water retaining structures' on December 10 and 11, 'Build Tech 2005' is being conducted.
 
It will focus on a wide range of topics ranging from water treatment plants, swimming pools, ground level reservoirs, and overhead tanks. It will also emphasise the growing need to preserve rain water.
 
Over 300 delegates including those from government bodies like the MUDA, Zilla Panchayat, Water Board, City Corporation, Housing Board, Land Army and PWD will participate in the seminar, said Build Tech Chairman T N Hemanth. "We expect around 50,000 people to visit the exhibition," he added.
 
Mysore centre chief Prakash said the 18-year-old centre is now planning to consolidate its activities under one roof, Mysore Builders' Charitable Trust on its own land in Vishweshwarnagar. Women's and students' chapters are recent two initiatives of the centre.
