In a traditional Madras home on Bangalore's 11 Walton Road, just off Lavelle Road, Radhika Poddar's 2,000 sq ft lifestyle store Cinnamon has the glitterati pouring in even nine months after it was commissioned.

In a city brimming with brands, this is where you can run your fingers over designer labels sourced from all over the country.

It's difficult to decide whether it is the designer presence or the design itself that is more overwhelming. Poddar's dream store has been designed by Italian glass, silver and metalware designer Andrea Anastasio.

The soft colours, unusual spaces and contemporary feel of the store only ends up highlighting the products on display that include from the contemporary to the traditional.

These include copies of royal photographs, metalware by Michael Aram, Vikram Sardesai's bidri, antique and contemporary jewellery, candles, incense and soap, pottery, silver, pashmina shawls, old textiles and handloom sarees.

Clearly, though, the focus is on women, with a range of wearables from designers Abraham & Thakore, Neeru Kumar, Muzaffar Ali's Kotwara collection, Vivek Narang, Jason Cheriyan and Hidden Harmony.

The prices, predictably, aren't low, but they're not steep enough either to be off-putting. Definitely worth a potter.
