Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the current ODI captain of the Indian cricket team, turns 34 today. Its his first birthday after becoming a father.
Statistically, Dhoni is India’s most successful cricket captain. He is also the only captain to have won the ICC World T20, ICC Cricket World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy. He has also led the Indian team to victory in the 2010 Asia Cup, and to the No.1 Test ranking for 18 months.
He has also captained the Indian Premiere League team Chennai Super Kings to two IPL cups and Champions League trophies.
On the field, Dhoni is known for taking risky decisions while keeping a cool head, making his captaincy unpredictable and hard to counter.
The prolific Indian cricketer was the only Indian to feature on the Forbes list of The World's Highest-Paid Athletes 2015, ranking at 23.
After retiring from Tests last year, Dhoni continues to lead Team India in ODIs and T20 forms of international cricket.
