UB group chariman Vijay Mallya plans to bring back more treasures of Tipu Sultan to India.

Encouraged by exemption of customs duty on the import of the sword of Tipu Sultan, Mallya is taking part in the Tipu Sultan Collection Auction to be held in London on May 25 to bid and bring back to India more national treasures.

"In the May 25 auction in London, as a proud Indian I intend to purchase as many of these treasures as possible. This time however, I shall seek finance minister's advice on how to proceed to bring these items back to India," said Mallya in a statement issued from San Francisco.

Union finance minister P Chidambaram in a letter to Mallya has communicated an ad-hoc order exempting customs duty on the import of the 'The Sword of Tipu Sultan'.
