If you’re not done with gifts for the festive season, and are inclined towards art, the Art Symphony show (on till November 15) at Rafaael’s Art Gallery, Chattarpur, New Delhi, might make a lot of sense with its one-of-a-kind glass work carvings from Japan, copper works from Bali and silver skulls from Cambodia. Well worth a look.

If you’re one of those lucky ones who has managed to escape from India for a break, good ol’Blighty (London to you and me) should you’re your attention for its auction (on October 30) of Old Masters and Early British Paintings. Check out the India connection. At Sotheby’s.

Coming up for auction, back home, is Emami Chisel Art’s second auction of Indian contemporary and modern art, in Kolkata. What makes it unusual is that it has no reserve prices, promises prices that are 30-40 per cent less than market prices (but who knows how an auction will go!), and for the first time has video art for auction. At Emami Towers in Kolkata, previews begin November 1, online bidding on November 3, with the on-location auction concluding on November 8.

Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai, will open a show by Rekha Rodwittiya on October 31 (till November 18) called rekha@fifty.

At Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area, check out Zakkir

Hussain’s Re-turn of the ‘Unholy’ consisting of works in watercolour, acrylic, conte and pencil. On till November 15.
