Q: Ours is a charitable organisation and we conduct rural outreach medical camps. We require a 10-seater vehicle, as we travel as a group of 9 to 10 people to these far-flung places. Some foreign doctors also accompany us in the course of our job. Please name a suitable vehicle we can purchase new. My first preference is the Mahindra Voyager.

A: In your line of service, you require a certain degree of comfort as well as reliability from your vehicle. We would straightaway recommend that you look no further than a Tempo Traveller.

Its capable diesel powertrain package offers relatively quiet performance, while a well-configured suspension system navigates bad roads over distances quite comfortably.

The vehicle comes in a high-roof, long wheelbase version, and that makes it ideal for ambulance use. If you so require, a specific ambulance version is available directly from the manufacturer itself, and that should further simplify matters.

The vehicle is a proven Mercedes-Benz design, and will offer years of trouble-free running, provided of course, you follow the regular maintenance schedule prescribed by the manufacturer. Also, if you ever require assistance, spares and service are both cheap and easily available throughout the country.
